Slavery's constitution: from revolution to ratification

In this work, the author examines the place and influence of slavery in the American Constitution.

Although never specifically mentioned, slavery is a factor in 11 of the 84 clauses and the author argues that this is because it was a major factor in the development of the national economy at that time.
