This book is the collection of Mr. Xie Xuanjun "to the East", formerly known as Bid farewell to history: out of the "Yellow River Complex", Originally planned to be published in 1989. after The June Fourth Massacre, the publisher unilaterally breach of contract.

In 1996, the book was renamed "to the East", anonymous "Shu Ye" published. "Shu Ye" is Xie Xuanjun Newspaper column under the pen name.

This book second chapter "out of the Yellow River Complex", is the first draft for the television political film "River Elegy" .
