Trends in Building Materials Research

The objective of this volume is to show case studies and research on novel and interesting ways of achieving sustainable construction practices via the use of new building materials and technologies.

The papers originate from both academia and industry and treat the topics of: traditional construction materials, advanced construction materials, green building materials, architectural design and its theory, urban planning and design, landscape planning and design, building energy saving technology and ecological architecture.This large two-volume collection of scholarly papers on structural engineering, representing the proceedings of the Second International Conference on Structures and Building Materials, held in Hangzhou, China in March, 2010, showcases current scholarship in a wide variety of topics relating to cutting edge construction processes and sustainable building materials.

Volume One provides articles covering traditional structural members, advanced construction materials, and green building materials, While Volume Two covers architectural design and theory, urban planning, landscape planning and design, and ecological architecture.

Articles include keywords, abstracts, illustrations and formulas, and both keyword and author indexes are provided.

Contributors are academics in architectural and design disciplines from primarily Asian institutions.
