This is the story of a young Amish girl who defies her family traditions and leaves her small community in search for musical stardom. The naive girl quickly learns how hard it can be to make dreams come true and that all that glitters is not gold. She thinks about returning to the security and safety of her Amish village when encouraging words from a new found friend convinces her to reconsider. A chance meeting causes the Amish girl to cross paths with an aspiring all girl rock band performing at a small family owned Italian Restaurant in New York City's Little Italy.

The band comes together when the girls team up with a couple of boys they knew from school. This budding rock band soon gets their first chance at stardom when a flashy concert promoter wants to put them as opening act on a cross country tour. Trouble looms this budding rock band as old wounds are opened and a mix of bitter sweet success and tragedy makes them think about what they really want. Throughout the tour they learn a lesson in family values, true friendship and unconditional love. The Amish girl achieves her dream and returns home with more respect for her lifestyle, family and in herself. The paths they've taken and persons they've met along their journey will always be in their Restless Hearts.
