Take3 : Skills and Strategies for Supporting Parents to Deal with Challenging Teenagers - Pt. 1 & 2

Take3 is a comprehensive evidence-based parenting programme originally developed and used extensively over an eight-year period in Oxfordshire.

The pack (for course facilitators) contains material for working with groups of parents of 10-18 year-olds, including parents of at-risk or vulnerable young people.

The in-depth facilitator notes distil a wealth of expertise in working with parents of teenagers.

There are two parts: Part One (core course): understanding adolescence; encouragement; listening; parenting styles; boundaries and consequences; when adults disagree; neighbourhood and peer influences and self care. Part Two (extras): role of a parent; managing anger; dealing with abuse and criticism; being assertive with professionals; talking about sex, drugs and alcohol; sibling rivalry; coping with joined up families; dealing with anti-social behaviour and more.
