Peak District - Monsal Head and Ashford & Chatsworth and Rowsley

Two circular country walks starting from Bakewell at the heart of the Peak District National Park: Monsal Head and Ashford, five miles - a leisurely two and a half hours; and Chatsworth and Rowley, seven miles - a three and a half hour walk.

Founded upon the Monsal Trail, these walks venture to reveal the two characteristic rock components of the Park, namely limestone and gritstone.

In each case the setting is both charming and exhilarating, and the narrator Pete Hawkins explains the qualities of the countryside, while ensuring that the walker is always safely on course.

The walks feature strolls beside the peat-darkened waters of the Derwent and the crystal waters of the Wye, together with elevated views over Monsal Head and Chatsworth Park.
