Field education in social work requires an alliance between practitioners and academics.

In this collection five practitioners and eleven academics have combined to examine aspects of field education in a variety of settings.

A number of issues are developed in detail. What emerges from this collection is a strong sense that social work students become true professionals - combining both theory and skill - through the partnership between the agency and the university.
