A concise introduction to geometric numerical integration

Unlike many other books, this introductory book on numerical geometric integration covers both of the main themes needed by researchers and advanced graduate students: techniques and applications. Emphasis is placed on splitting and composition methods as well as other techniques like symplectic integrators, variational integrators, volume preserving methods, and Lie group methods. Additionally, several of the newer developments in splitting and composition methods are covered.
