I Am That Poet

My poems come from my journey in life experience from one of eleven children in Mississippi, to joining the united states marine corp at seventeen yrs old during the Vietnam war era, and spending13 months of oversea duty, and after my return, I was honorable discharge and as a young man began to use alcohol social as a substance, to deal with that experience and the social Ills of that era and it linger and became a problem later on in life, and I began to write poetry as a emotional outlet to the ease the pain of my journey to sobriety, which have been fifthteen years now, I know the journey is not over but the road is a lot smoother now, that why I am sharing my pain, my victories, my joy. And laughter with you, for the veterans suffering with PTSD, anyone dealing with depression, anxiety or mental issues, or bad relationship, a rough day at work, a bad hair day, waiting in the doctor office, to see what the Xray say after reading one of poems, I want you to be able to say that I Joseph Theophilus Lowe is the poet, who made you throw that tissue away, and put a smile of your face and made your day, may god bless and may you find your way.
