A Register of Geographic Information Systems in Government

This is the first publication of its kind to record the GIS used by Central Government organizations.

It comprises three sections: an analysis of the raw data contained in the register; information of the system used; and information on datasets.

It is hoped that potential users of GIS needing more information will use the register to contact existing users and that by listing what datasets are in existence and who created them, government organizations will be encouraged to share data, so reducing the cost of data collection.
