My Ashmolean Discovery Book

This title is suitable for children of ages 8 to 11 years.

It includes a book and stickers. Published to coincide with the re-opening of the Ashmolean Museum in November 2009, this book celebrates the remarkable transformation of the oldest public museum in England.

With double the display space, and a new education centre the Museum will be more accessible to children than ever before.

This activity book is designed to get children thinking about artefacts by introducing them to some of the Ashmolean's key exhibits and the fascinating stories behind them: How did a mummy get to Oxford from Egypt?

What connects an octopus jar to the minotaur? And what is Powhatan's mantle? There are a range of activities to complete, ranging from imaginative drawings tasks, to designing coins, piecing together Samurai armour to mending a jar using stickers.

All can be completed whether you are in the Museum or not.
