Thinking with English

Building on the success of the pack "Top Ten Thinking Tactics", this work is a thinking skills programme which takes the ideals of the Top Ten and translates them into a context for teaching English.

The pack uses six different types of text - stories, letters, poems, instructional text, dialogues and plays - around which problem-solving activities are presented.

Working through the activities should help children to build decision-making skills, listen to others, and change their own ideas.

The pack as a whole covers essential learning strategies which lower achievers may have failed to pick up, as well as offering challenges to more able children.
