Dale Earnhardt Sr. came from humble beginnings and often had little to no money at the start of his career. Dale Earnhardt Sr. may have passed away in 2001, however, his memory lives on in the hearts and minds of millions of fans and he is considered one of the greatest race car drivers in the history of NASCAR. His legacy lives on and his story of humble beginnings, challenges, and triumphs can serve as an inspiration to all of us and highlights the importance of never giving up on one's dreams. Dale Earnhardt's greatest triumph and tragic death both occurred at the Daytona 500 in 1998 when after 20 years he finally won and sadly in 2001 when he crashed and lost his life during the final lap when he was racing with his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. who along with his family continues the legacy of the "Intimidator" aka Dale Earnhardt.
