Update on Childhood Asthma

This issue of "Agents and Actions Supplements" is published to coincide with the "International Symposium on Asthma and Allergic Diseases in Childhood" held in Berne, Switzerland, March 25-27, 1993.

At present there are no new developments in astham pathology, pathogenesis or treatment.

However, treatment modalities, pathogenetic insights and public awareness undergo rapid changes as our knowledge of atopic diseases increases.

This work aims to summarize recent research results, to give an update on the current thinking of therapeutic interventions and to make people aware of psychosomatic aspects of asthma.
