Guidelines for the Blood Transfusion Services in the United Kingdom (5 Revised edition)

The "Guidelines for the Blood Transfusion Services in the UK" - known affectionately as the "Red Book" is the result of a collaboration between the four national services of the UK Blood Transfusion Service (UKBTS), and the National Institute of Biological Standards and Control.

It identifies and defines advisory guidelines for all materials produced by the UKBTS both for therapeutic and diagnostic use.

The resulting guidelines give advice, guidance and where appropriate, general specifications and standards.
