History of the Lakher Pioneer Mission 1905 - 1978 Mizoram, India.

Reginald Lorrain and his wife Maud went into unknown jungle on the Indian North East Frontier.

They led the entire area to Christianity and reduced the local language to writing.

Reginald started a school and his successor introduced universal education.

The Mission was never sponsored by any society, the Missionaries made the jungle village their home and are buried there.

They played a key role through WWII stabilising the district by sticking to their post despite the rumble of nearby guns.
