See all formats and editions

These titles form a series which introduces young readers to different animals, their behaviour and lifestyles.

Each of the featured animals is in danger and the series explains the concept of endangerment, extinction and animal protection at a very simple level.

Each book in the series provides a general introduction to animals in danger, before focusing on the specific animal featured in the book.

The books follow an animal through its daily life, looking at its appearance, behaviour, habitat, special characteristics and so on.

Each then explains why the animal is in danger, what the danger is and what measures are being taken to restrict or prevent the danger.

Care is taken to explain the difference between danger from humans and from the environment, as well as the "natural" danger that animals face in the wild. The animals covered in the series are: koala; polar bear; grey bat; whooping crane; leatherback turtle; and cheetah.
