This title presents a survey of effective practice at Key Stages 3 and 4.

This report by Graham Frater and John Taylor is the outcome of a survey of 13 drama departments in schools in England and Wales; its focus was on their contributions to the literacy of their students.

The aim of this report was to gather evidence about practice that works, to identify some of the common underlying trends and to share examples.

It set out to examine some claims that, at Key Stages 3 and 4, drama often makes significant contributions to the literacy of its students and that it is apt to help groups of students who are less readily reached in many other subjects.
