Our Country Jamaica

This text studies the nation of Jamaica: its landscape, its people and their history, the way it is governed, how the people earn a living, and life as an independent nation.

Modern developments are highlighted and special attention is paid to natural resources, and to trade and tourism.

Like the other books in the "Caribbean Social Studies" series it includes many Social Studies activities, and is highly illustrated with photographs and colour artwork designed to be attractive and easily accessible to the pupil. "Caribbean Social Studies" is a six-level course for primary and all-age schools.

To ensure in-depth coverage of Year 4 there are separate books on the individual countries.

These follow the progressive style of the series and introduce a new concept in course material for the Caribbean.
