Classical poetry 9-14

This text integrates training and practice for teachers with activities for pupils aged nine to 14.

Containing photocopiable, ready-to-use worksheets of innovative activities, it provides a progressive study of pre-20th-century poetry from pupils' first introduction to the genre to the analysis of more challenging poems. The book addresses the requirements of the National Curriculum and places emphasis on the understanding of poetic techniques as well as on personal interpretation of content.

The poems are arranged by poet so that attention may be given to comparing poems by the same writer.
