Passing the Literacy Skills Test

All trainee teachers seeking to gain Qualified Teacher Status now need to pass a computerised literacy skills test.

In the course of their professional work, teachers have to communicate clearly and to understand and evaluate written information.

The QTS literacy skills test is intended to ensure that everyone qualifying to teach has a good grounding in the use of literacy in the wider context of their professional role as a teacher.
