Pot of gold

This is another stand alone instalment of the family saga begun in Chasing Rainbows.

After an uneasy start to their marriage, Cherry and Lance Melchior are now living on a small working farm.

It's a very different life for both Lance, a once-rich playboy, and Cherry, a former kitchen-maid.

But when Lance's brother dies he becomes Lord Melchoir, and must return to Bristol to run the family estate.

This is a difficult time for Cherry, and the reappearance of her roguish brother, Brian, doesn't help matters.

Against the background of the General Strike, in which Lance is involved as a special constable, Cherry and Lance strive to make their marriage work.

But Brian is determined to destroy the couple's happiness and, for a time, it seems that he might succeed.
