Dido Hoare, a 30-something antiquarian bookseller, is driving back to London one night.

It's late and she's lost when an unseen driver forces her off the road.

Somewhat shaken, she puts it down to a couple of drunks playing games.

But when her bookshop is broken into, her father receives a threatening note, and her shady ex-husband reappears, it seems that her life may be in grave danger...
