About the author and illustrator: Judy Bradbury, a public school teacher for more than 20 years, is now a full-time writer.

When not speaking at conferences, she works out of her East Amherst, NY home, which she shares with her husband, daughter, one big dog, and one cantankerous cat. Cathy Trachok has illustrated many children's books for the Nature Conservancy, the Girl Scouts of America, and the Smithsonian Institution.

She has received numerous awards and exhibits her work nationally.
