"Generic Risk Assessment (GRA) 1.1 - Emergency Response and Arrival at the Scene" is part of a new series of GRAs that are the product of a 10 year consultation period.

The GRAs in this series have been designed to safeguard emergency services personnel and members of the public. "GRA 1.1" examines the hazards, risks and controls that relate to Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) staff and others who may be affected during the period in which they receive an emergency call and begin to respond to it. "GRA 1.1" covers each section of emergency response including: initial response, turning out and proceeding to an incident and arriving and getting to work.

It also covers three key stages of responding to an incident: initial response; and, turning out and proceeding to an incident and arriving and getting to work.

It details significant hazards at each stage of response.

It also details control measures at each stage of response.

This GRA is supplied as an A5 bound publication. GRAs are also available to purchase as A4, loose-leaf publications. A binder pack containing an introduction to the series, foreword by Sir Ken Knight, contents list of all the new GRAs and dividers is available to order separately.

The binder is the ideal solution for storing the loose-leaf GRAs.

This GRA supersedes GRAs 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 contained in "A Guide to Operational Risk Assessment: Fire Service Guide Volume 3".
