Risen : Volume 1

Risen is a dark fantasy 'Isekai' series following the two main characters Marcus Wright and Selene Kiser as well as seeing the world through the perspectives of the other characters that they meet on their journey. Marcus Wright is a 21 year old man who grew up raising his sister Thalia alone at the age of eight years old and during that time he worked under the mafia boss known as Stefan Romano as his hitman until about two years ago.

Now he spends his time watching over Thalia while fighting off anyone who intends to do either of them harm. Selene Kiser is a 22 year old swordswoman who is the vice captain of the Darkmoon Knights Brotherhood in Duranell.

She uses her 'Scorching sun' magic to fend off the enemies and monsters that would mean to do her kingdom and her allies harm...even if they fear her for it.

For she is among the strongest people in the world and her magic is feared nearly by all that live on the world of Erebus. This dark fantasy is an amalgamation of the greatest icons in Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Judea/Christian mythology with a few changes every now and then to their history and their relations with other characters within their respective mythologies.

However Erebus, the world where half of the story takes place, also holds its own rich history to explore.
