Based on the experiences of specific countries in the South-East Asia region as well as from other regions, this publication is intended as a communication tool on both the theoretical and practical approaches to health care quality.

It describes the processes of health care quality from the conception of an idea to its introduction and implementation, following the international quality cycle that describes the health care quality process in terms of planning, setting standards, communicating standards, monitoring and steps to be taken for quality improvement.

The book is practice-orientated and presents case studies of health care quality activities in many countries.
