Part of the Association of the United States Army S. series
See all formats and editions

This leadership handbook for the junior military officer addresses the important issues of first command and spells out the tasks a company commander must complete, and how to perform them.

Beginning with the matter of assuming command properly, it goes on to deal with the establishment of correct relationships within the company and battalion chains of command.

Further chapters offer advice on such topics as training and supply maintenance. Although written by a US Army officer, primarily for US Army company commanders, the book has suggestions and insights which are considered relevant to other armed forces, American and otherwise.
