Bustin' Down the Door

Documentary chronicling the rise of surfing in the 1970s.

In the winter of 1975 a group of young surfers from Australia and South Africa relocated to Hawaii.

The film follows the trials and tribulations the newcomers went through as their cocksure, colonial ways collided with the more sedate culture of the native Hawaiians.

This proved to be the most critical period in the sport's history and surfing was never the same again.
