TheDictionnaire de l'anthroponymie romane (PatRom)is a genetic dictionary of personal names; it comprises 6 volumes (with part-volumes). TheBibliographie des sources historiquestogether with theCahier des Normes rédactionellesand the secondary literature (Vol. I,1) provide the basis and nucleus of thePatRomdictionary. It records the medieval sources (documents or lists of names), the evaluation of which forms the basis of each article in thePatRom. In addition, various indexes of sigla and abbreviations facilitate access to the historical documentation.
