Medieval Castle

Examining the development of forts and strongholds from the beginning of the Middle Ages, this title looks at the motives behind the building of castles and the variety of different people needed to make castle life run smoothly.

The books takes a closer look at what problems the castle might face in conflicts, such as siege warfare and bombardment, as well as the sort of soldiers who would be involved, this title relates to a number of the concepts covered in the Key Stage 3 unit "Britain 1066-1500", including "The structure of medieval society".
