A boy and a Girl growing up in Post war time in Switzerland.

Times are relatively hard, the grown ups having a hard time with the sudden change from War to peace.

The two Kids are growing up in two different communities within 10 kilometers, without knowing each other but meets a couple of times by coincident.

They finally fall in love in their teens, nothing can keep them apart anymore.

The agitated mother of the girl tries to part the two and sends her daughter away in secret.

The boy finds out where she is, follows her and eventually kidnaps her, to live with her in the big city.

Finally the army calls for his duty, the times are getting hard for the two, but they find a way to convince the boy's parents that they should get married.

The girl's younger sister finds out about the marriage and threatens to destroy them.

Finally the two move away, and start to have a great future.

Then one day, the young man gets an offer for a job in Canada, his dream country from his earlier time in life.

Grabbing the chance by the horn they accept the offer, but once they are in Canada, the offer is not what was promised.

In the process they loose all they had saved up, and went thru a few years of hardship. A great autobiography about love, intrigues, hardship, and even murder.
