Lesya Ukrainka (real name Larisa Petrivna Kosach, 1871-1913) is a famous Ukrainian writer, a brilliant poet and playwright, translator and cultural figure.

Many of her works are recognized as masterpieces of world literature.

She composed her first poem at the age of nine, the last at the age of 40.
