Selanik, Salonika, Thessaloniki. One city, three names.

Ottoman Muslims, Jews, Greek Orthodox Christians. Three large communities and their struggles for survival from the end of the 19th century until the exchange of populations, and the end of World War II.

My story is about members of a Jewish family from the last quarter of the nineteenth century, until the last quarter of the twentieth.

The three generations live in the city of Salonika, but from time to time, in other countries as well, and their destiny is intertwined with the city, and other places, where they live. The events that shake the city, shake their lives!

Moses, Isaac, Emilio. Father, son, and grandson. The life of three men in a family... their personal trials, the events facing their homeland, and their time in history.
