The service sector has assumed economic growth over the past decade. India came fifteenth in

services output. It provides employment for 24.2% of the workforce and a growth rate of 7.4% in

1991-2000 up from 4.6% in 1951-80.

The Growth Rate of the service sector in India's GDP has been rapid in the last few years. The Services

the Indian economy. India ranks fifteenth in services output and provides employment to around
