Little Bent Cedar

This work is intended for ages 7 to 9. A small cedar tree sprouts from a seed and begins to grow in a valley where there are no other trees.

Brown Cow comes too close and crushes the little tree with his hoof.

No matter how hard Little Bent Cedar tries to stand straight, she grows with a bent trunk.

One day, Red Robin comes by with a hurt wing. Little Bent Cedar protects and shelters Red Robin until she is healed and can fly away to the Great Southern Forest.

In the spring, Red Robin returns with a promise of one wish for Little Bent Cedar to be granted by The Great Forest Spirit.

Little Bent Cedar cannot decide what her wish shall be.

As time goes on, other trees are planted in the valley and Little Bent Cedar is no longer alone.

There is even a family who built its home near Little Bent Cedar because she is the most beautiful tree they have ever seen.
