The Mask Maker

Yael takes a noblewoman's mask and identity in a place where a fatal curse compels everyone to wear masks in an attempt to blend in and locate her kidnapped sister, but she instead becomes entangled in a perverse spy game.

Yael, then eighteen, was a gifted apprentice mask maker, but she is no longer. She is now a murderess, a spy, and an impostor.

To avoid the curse of the spectres, ghost-like creatures that can murder with a single touch, everyone in the country of Vynam is required to don masquerade masks.

Yael borrows the mask and persona of a noblewoman in order to blend in with the nobility, track down her sister, and exact revenge on her parents after the Somaer family, the wealthiest nobles in Vynam, kidnaps her sister and kills them.

Her only chance of success-and even survival-lies in her ability to outwit the most cunning spies in Vynam. She alone has the potential to shatter the fragile peace of the aristocratic houses and rock the foundations of all of Vynam when her hunt for her sister reveals harmful information.

However, the price could be her sister's life.
