Batter Days

There are two things I've always dreamed of: to own my own bakery and to live happily ever after. Is that too much to ask? It is if you talk to my boss. She's as tart as a lemon with a tongue like a meat cleaver. My current relationship is crumbling like an over-baked cake, and everything I have ever dreamed of feels like it's just getting farther out of reach. At least I still have my best friend and roommate, Derek, to fall back on. He'll always be there for me.

Well...maybe not. One night of drinks and dancing may have ruined the most important relationship in my life. Everything is spinning as out of control as a possessed stand mixer, and I'm going to have to make a choice: put this delicate new relationship at the top of my list or risk leaving my heart a shattered mess on the kitchen floor.
