Ancient woodlands are special habitats, rich in plants and animals not found in other environments. They are also places abounding in folklore and enchantment, where strange things may occur. Enter Luke, who is experiencing major life changes and traumas. He finds solace and comfort in his local, beloved woods.

One summer's day, he meets an intuitive man in the woods, Vitaily Petraukas, fungi collecting. Vitaily explains that collecting fungi from the woodland floor is part of his culture and his ancient heritage that ties his people to the land. He tells Luke about a Lithuanian obsession known as "nugrybauti", which means stepping off the trail in the woods whilst fungi picking. Luke begins to practise "nugrybauti" and as he does so, he discovers something incredible, fantastic, magical and ultimately dangerous, deep in the woods.

Journey with Luke as he experiences a spiritual awakening, an epiphany of enlightenment and fulfilment that will change his life forever.
