Progress In Learning Book 2 is the second in a series of reading workbooks, designed to provide students with a simple yet effective way to improve their literacy skills. Based on the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, the series is:

* Phonics based
* Structured
* Sequential
* Cumulative
* Multi-sensory.

Learning is achieved in small sequential steps in which students can experience a high success rate. This in turn leads to increased self esteem and motivation for independent learning.

Students learn to decode carefully graded word lists and read these accurately within the context of a sentence. Useful suggestions to develop visual and auditory processing skills, memory, cognitive fluency and comprehension are included. Passionate about helping students who struggle with their learning skills, Kim Morris empowers educators, parents and students to make a difference in their lives. This is reflected in improved academic achievement and emotional well being. She is a well-qualified, specialist teacher with many years of teaching experience, trained to work with children who have learning differences.

The course includes the teaching of words with triple blends, consonant digraphs, pseudo words, sentences, final silent -e, vowel digraphs, vowel-modified -r , and the next 200 commonly used words. Decodable sentences containing the words taught, are included.

The educational resources provide a much needed 'Back to basics' approach to learning.
